RALPH McTELL NEWSLETTER
1987
11 Oxford Circus Avenue
231 Oxford Street

London W1R 1AD
Autumn 1987 sees a welcome return to the concert platform for Ralph.  After a hectic 1986, the middle part of this year has given Ralph time to concentrate on individual and joint writing projects, the most notable of which was the epic ballad "Red & Gold" for the 20th Anniversary Fairport Reunion, which made its first debut with the all star backing band in August.
Ralph has also appeared this year in other Festivals as far apart as Perth (Western Australia), Skagen (Denmark) and Letterkenny (Eire).
In January Ralph returned to Australia after three years for an exciting ten city tour, culminating in the famous Perth Festival.  On the way to Australia, he also made his first appearances in Hong Kong, a fascinating experience, which he hopes can be repeated before too long, next time taking in Chinese audiences.  (Did you know that "Streets
of London" was recorded in Chinese, and was a hit in Hong Kong for an artist called Sam Ho?!)
Back to this Autumn.  As you will see, there is no Christmas concert at Wimbledon.  This year Ralph has decided to travel to Newcastle, to join his old friends Lindisfarne on their special children's charity show at the City Hall on 20th December.  However, there will be two London concerts (see priority booking form attached) as part of Ralph's short
Autumn tour.  There are plans for a major national tour in the Spring of 1988.
All best wishes.

RALPH McTELL NEWSLETTER
31st October. 1988
Many thanks for all your calls and letters: especially for the Christmas card I received last week!
As usual Ralph has been keeping pretty busy through the Summer, the highlights of which were a return to Northern Ireland, and concerts in Bermuda.  He is presently touring in Europe with the Everly Bros., and returns to this country in time for his Autumn tour next month - dates below.
Ralph's new album "BLUE SKIES BLACK HEROES" (TPC/010) is now available in shops, distributed by CM Records.  Planned in time for the tour are CD and cassette versions of the record, and these will be on sale at the concerts.
All best wishes for  Christmas and the New Year
